About The Role We are seeking a highly motivated professional with a background and an interest in the beauty industry to serve as a Director of Partnerships. The primary responsibility of this role is to generate sales leads, manage inbound client inquiries from the Goodkind site, nurture existing partner relationships, and most importantly, take ownership and accountability for executing the sales plan. This role is a critical revenue-generating position focused on acquiring new brand partners and nurturing existing relationships to drive sales growth.The individual must possess a thorough understanding of revenue management and strong negotiation and project management skills. This is a cross-functional role with management responsibility for new and existing brand partners. The successful candidate thinks proactively rather than reactively, and has the ability to identify potential challenges and resolve problems quickly. They must have strong communication skills, excellent follow-up, and be detail-oriented. Finally, the DPD must have a passion for product development, be fluent in the trends of the beauty industry, and be curious about formulation and sustainability innovation.
What You'll Do - Identify and secure new partnerships with high potential brands.
- A deep understanding of our Manufacturing Kit & Capabilities is essential for crafting tailored, feasible, and compelling sales solutions that align with client needs and maximize Goodkind Co.'s competitive advantages.
- Consistently generate quality leads via networking, trade shows and referrals.
- Responsible for achieving sales and margin targets across projects
- Negotiate most favorable terms & pricing for Goodkind Co, while still maintaining a competitive edge over other contract manufacturers.
- Responsible for managing the partnership throughout the entire sales cycle from the introductory conversation throughout the term of the relationship.
- Balance urgency with empathy as part of a cross-functional team responsible for onboarding new partners, maintaining strong relationships, and managing customer needs.
- Communicate project details clearly to all internal team members and ensure thorough understanding.
- Schedule, prepare reporting for, and support the execution of quarterly sales meetings with key clients.
- Follow all internal processes and procedures closely and carefully to mitigate any potential risk to the client or to Goodkind Co.
- Serve as the primary client contact for new product development, ongoing projects, reorders, and issue resolution.
- Keep the larger team up to date on new sales opportunities or any potential shortfalls to the sales plan.
- Take the initiative to reach out to existing partners and close any gaps that would result in a shortfall to the financial plan.
- Be a strategic thought partner for our clients, with the ability to look at their assortment holistically and identify white space opportunities.
- Closely monitor industry trends through publications, reporting, competitive shopping, and social media activity and report findings back to the broader team at Goodkind.
- Strong presentation skills and a passion for sharing the Goodkind story and why we are different from typical contract manufacturers
About You You are a detail-oriented individual with a proven track record of building brands, exceeding sales plans and maintaining strong relationships within the beauty industry. You enjoy meeting new people, networking and identifying new opportunities. You have a passion for product development and seek out new innovation. You always have your finger on the pulse of the beauty industry and love discovering new brands. You are highly motivated to succeed and enjoy working in a competitive industry.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience, with 2-3 years of working in a sales role within the beauty industry, cosmetics, consumer packaged goods industry, or a similar role.
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Excel & Google Suite
- Knowledge or experience with CRM software (Hubspot) is a plus
- Ability to rapidly multitask & execute under tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, business planning and project organization
- The candidate must be able to travel up to 30% of the time to meet with clients, attend trade shows, and industry events.
