Job Description

Description of Role: Our company, Michael Hohl Automotive Group, is looking for a Subaru Service Technician to join our team. As part of this role, the technician will execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications. They will also test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment. In addition, the technician will inspect and perform testing on new vehicles, record findings, and provide estimates for additional recommended repairs. It is important for the technician to communicate directly with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed about any additional service required. The technician will also report any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers. Responsibilities:

• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
• Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Inspect and perform testing on new vehicles, record findings, and provide estimates for additional recommended repairs
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed about any additional service required
• Report any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its personnel, or customers

• Strong automotive background is preferred
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures, and specifications
• Good knowledge of automobiles
• Effective analytical and communication skills
• Must be able to handle interruptions and perform simultaneous tasks "in stride"
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
• Factory trained Subaru experience or experience on import vehicles (preferred)
• Ensures that guests' cars are kept clean
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
• Must have a valid driver's license
• A fast learner
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent Guest Service Skills
• Team Player and focused on maintaining a high level of guest service
• Housekeeping and abide by safety rules of the shop
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Must have at least 3 years of experience as an auto technician
