Brief Job Description:
The Adams County Library System has the following Full-Time opportunity:
Gettysburg Library Public Services Assistant: Full time, evenings and weekends. 36.5
hours weekly. $13.50/hour with benefits. This is a front-line customer service position.
Ability to learn and assist customers in traditional library service as well as modern
technology-based library service is essential. Sound independent judgment is required.
Monday – 8:30 to 5
Tuesday – 8:30 to 5
Friday – 8:30 to 5
Saturday - 8:30 to 5
Sunday - 12:30 to 5
The successful candidate must have computer/technology skills to adequately utilize
library software, Microsoft Office applications and electronic information sources.
Physical requirements: Position requires ability to carry/lift bags of library materials up to 40 pounds and manipulate loaded book carts weighing up to 300 pounds over carpeted floors.

Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED required. Library experience
preferred. Bilingual/Spanish preferred.
Applicant must be able to obtain Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance,
Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check and an FBI Criminal Background
Check.
