PRIMARY ROLE:

A Junior Graphic Designer at Defero doesn’t just learn the tools — you’re learning how to transform ideas into design that communicates with clarity and impact. You’re focused on building confidence in layout, typography, and visual hierarchy while executing creative work under guidance and direction.

You collaborate closely with designers, copywriters, and project managers, iterating quickly based on feedback and sharpening your eye for detail. You follow brand guidelines and briefs closely while developing the ability to problem-solve and bring your own creative voice to projects.

A working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is expected, along with a strong foundation in design principles. Junior Designers at Defero support the team across a range of projects including social media, emails, digital ads, print materials, and more — gaining hands-on experience that grows into creative independence.

NECESSARY SKILLS:

  • Developing creative thinking, problem-solving, and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to design across a variety of media (digital, social, web, print) based on briefs and direction.
  • Growing foundation in design principles including typography, layout, and composition.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; After Effects a plus), and Figma.
  • Familiarity with responsive design and basic user experience concepts a plus.
  • Ability to follow brand guidelines and execute direction with accuracy.
  • Open to feedback and eager to iterate quickly to improve work without ego.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage tasks and deadlines with support from senior team members.
  • Works well as part of a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team.
  • Works independently when needed, while comfortable with asking questions and seeking clarification when needed.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality work while learning best practices.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptable and able to stay focused in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new skills and keeping up with industry trends.

Please provide a cover letter, resume, and digital portfolio or work samples. Applicants missing any of these three items will not be considered.
