**What You'll Do:**
+ Serve as first responder to emergencies and incidents on-site
+ Enforce federal and assimilated state laws
+ Conduct mobile patrols, traffic enforcement, and investigations
+ Perform arrests and transport individuals as needed
+ Guard NASA buildings, equipment, and materials
+ Control access for employees, visitors, and residents
+ Operate with assigned weapons as required
+ Carry out other protective service duties as assigned

**Responsibilities**
+ **Policy & Safety Compliance** : Adhere to all company personnel policies, safety procedures, and NASA security regulations while performing duties in a safe and professional manner.
+ **Preparedness & Appearance** : Report to work in proper uniform with all issued equipment; maintain cleanliness and readiness of both.
+ **Post Duties & Orders** : Attend Guard Mount, receive post assignments, review special instructions, and carry out general and special orders for assigned posts.
+ **Communication** : Operate radios, telephones, and engage in verbal communication as required by post duties and protocols.
+ **Security Operations** : Provide access and traffic control; conduct armed foot and vehicle patrols; perform inspections of personnel, vehicles, buildings, and packages.
+ **Public & Personnel Interaction** : Interact professionally with the public and government personnel; provide escort services as needed.
+ **Use of Force** : Be prepared to exercise appropriate levels of force, including deadly force, when authorized and necessary.
+ **Emergency Readiness** : Remain available for emergency duty during declared emergencies and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
+ **Equipment & Facility Checks** : Conduct routine checks of facilities, buildings, and equipment to ensure security and compliance.
+ **Additional Duties** : Perform other responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
**Qualifications**
+ **Education & Age** : High school diploma or GED; must be at least 21 years old.
+ **Experience** : Preferred-minimum of 2 years of military or law enforcement experience, or 1 year as an armed security officer or NASA SPO. Honorable discharge required if applicable.
+ **Certifications & Training** :
+ NASA Basic Training Standard (NBTS)
+ ICS-100, ICS-200, and IS-700 (prior to appointment)
+ ICS-300 (within 180 days of appointment)
+ First Aid/CPR or BLS certification (per contract requirements)
+ CLETS certification (if applicable)
+ **Licensing & Clearance** :
+ Valid state driver's license
+ Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance (not required to start)
+ **Physical & Psychological Requirements** :
+ Pass Initial Physical Agility Test (IPAT)
+ Meet and maintain NASA physical certification standards
+ Complete MMPI-2 and Shipley psychological evaluations
+ **Firearms Proficiency** : Must qualify and maintain proficiency with a handgun and other assigned weapons.
+ **Legal & Conduct Standards** :
+ No felony convictions or offenses under the Lautenberg Act
+ No history of illegal drug use, possession, sale, or manufacture
+ Must pass drug and alcohol screenings, including random testing
+ **Language & Communication** : Must read, write, speak, and understand English clearly; able to follow written and verbal instructions.
+ **Employment Eligibility** : Must verify identity and eligibility to work in the U.S. in compliance with federal law.
**Estimated Salary/Wage**
USD $34.47/Hr.
