Northwest Partners is looking for a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst who's passionate about protecting enterprise environments in the healthcare space. This role involves triaging alerts, investigating potential threats, and taking proactive steps to secure systems using a variety of cybersecurity tools and processes.
Contract Duration: 12-months (2,080 hours)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Shift: 11:00 PM 7:00 AM EST, starting Sundays at 11:00 PM
What YOU will do
monitor and investigate security alerts originating from SIEM, NGFW, EDR, NGAV, and other tools
follow documented incident response playbooks and procedures while analyzing and responding to alerts
maintain accurate and detailed notes in the case management system
proactively identify and remediate threats through threat hunting in SIEM and EDR environments
provide on-call support as scheduled in line with organizational policies
assist junior analysts with investigations and answer technical questions
contribute to the onboarding and training of new team members
work independently to manage and investigate security incidents and alerts
What YOU will bring us
4-year academic degree and at least 2 years of experience in information security or related work
strong understanding of IT tools, security best practices, and technical concepts
continued learning through on-the-job experience, self-study, certifications, or coursework
up-to-date knowledge of evolving security techniques, tools, and threats
familiarity with key security technologies including SIEM, EDR, antivirus, IDS/IPS, and NGFW
knowledge of attacker tactics and the ability to identify and respond to evolving threat behaviors
CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications preferred
willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
