Surgical Technologist - Operating Room Specialist

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized perioperative technical support during surgical procedures
• Maintain strict sterile technique and surgical field integrity
• Execute precise instrument handling and passing techniques
• Perform accurate surgical counts and maintain detailed documentation
• Anticipate surgical team needs and ensure equipment readiness
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols
• Assist in operating room turnover and equipment sterilization
• Contribute to departmental education and training activities

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
• Registration with VA Department of Health Professions
• Strong understanding of surgical procedures and instrumentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Military surgical technology training accepted if applicable
