This role involves designing, building, and maintaining a high-performance, fully responsive website using WordPress. The focus is on developing advanced custom functionality, including a dynamic, filterable Portfolio Map with various view options, integrating plugins, optimizing performance, ensuring accessibility, and migrating content. The developer will work closely with a Craft CMS developer to migrate data.

Responsibilities:
- Build all website pages using custom WordPress themes and either Gutenberg or Elementor.
- Develop and implement custom post types, taxonomies, and dynamic content structures (e.g., for Portfolio listings).
- Create an interactive Portfolio Map using Google Maps API or Leaflet.js, including marker popups, filtering, search, and multiple view modes (Map, List, Grid).
- Integrate and configure plugins such as MailChimp, calendar, ONE Mortgage Calculator, SEO tools, and forms.
- Ensure cross-device compatibility and WCAG 2.1 accessibility compliance.
- Optimize for mobile performance and page speed.
- Collaborate with a Craft CMS Developer on portfolio data migration.
- Build reusable, scalable components using WP Query, REST API, and custom endpoints.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with custom WordPress theme and plugin development.
- Strong proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, and either Google Maps API or Leaflet.js.
- Proven experience building interactive, filterable UI components with search and multi-view support.
- Deep understanding of WordPress architecture, including CPTs, ACF, WP_Query, and REST API.
- Strong front-end skills with a focus on responsive design and ADA/WCAG accessibility standards.
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and collaborative version control practices.
