About the Role

Rodan + Fields is seeking an Associate Creative Director, Design to lead Quarterly Campaigns, DTC and retail creative, and packaging design across key brand initiatives. This role will oversee monthly content development produced by an external agency, ensuring strategic alignment and creative excellence. Additionally, this ACD will lead creative for our Ulta retail partnership, including education videos, event materials, in-store signage, gondola updates, and more, as well as a range of DTC initiatives, including emails, landing pages, site content, and promotional campaigns.

The ACD will also drive packaging design for new product launches, working from early concept through final execution in collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on creative with expertise in brand storytelling, digital content, retail creative, and packaging innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Quarterly Campaigns & Oversight

• Oversee monthly content production from an external agency, ensuring creative aligns with brand strategy and marketing objectives.
• Manage a freelance Art Director, guiding the development of homepage banners, emails, and other digital assets.
• Manage a full-time Production Artist, ensuring accurate, high-quality execution across all deliverables.
• Ensure seamless collaboration between content, design, and brand storytelling, maintaining consistency across digital channels.

DTC Creative

• Lead email design for brand storytelling and promotional campaigns, ensuring concepts feel modern, elevated, and strategically on-brand
• Design Direct Mail pieces that blend education, storytelling, and conversion, bringing the brand to life in the hands of the consumer
• Develop and optimize landing pages that align with campaign messaging and drive engagement
• Design on-site marketing content—including promotional modules, Narvar pages, exit banners, and more—to support the full customer journey
• Support social photoshoots in collaboration with an external agency, ensuring creative aligns with campaign goals and brand aesthetics

Retail & Ulta Partnership Creative

• Lead all creative initiatives for the Ulta retail partnership, overseeing:
• Education videos for in-store and digital platforms.
• Event materials, including signage, promotional assets, and branded collateral.
• In-store signage and table displays to enhance customer experience.
• Gondola updates and visual merchandising, ensuring premium brand representation.

Packaging Design & Development

• Oversee packaging design for new product launches and updates, ensuring brand consistency and innovation.
• Conceptualize and propose bottle shapes and packaging structures, briefing the Packaging Engineering team for execution.
• Develop visual concepts for new products, collaborating with the Packaging Production Artist to ensure feasibility and production readiness.
• Work cross-functionally with product development, marketing, and engineering teams to align on packaging aesthetics and functionality.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Partner closely with internal creative teams, agencies, and external vendors to execute high-quality, brand-aligned creative.
• Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to agency partners and cross-functional teams, ensuring creative excellence across all initiatives.
• Drive innovative, forward-thinking creative solutions that enhance Rodan + Fields’ brand presence across digital, retail, and packaging.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in advertising, branding, or marketing, with at least 4-5 years in a management role.

• Strong background in digital content development, including oversight of emails, homepage banners, and branded campaigns.
• Experience leading retail creative for major partnerships, preferably in beauty, skincare, or a related industry.
• Deep understanding of packaging design, including bottle shape ideation, structural packaging, and production execution.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage external agencies.
• Experience working with packaging engineers, production artists, and in-store retail marketing teams.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range:$108,000-$172,000

The pay range represents the low and high end of the salary range we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, to geographic location, experience, education, skills, qualifications, performance, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of Rodan + Fields’ total compensation package for employees.
