**Job Summary and Responsibilities** Join our team as a Certified Sterile Processing Tech. In the Certified Sterile Processing Tech role you will: + Promote improved quality and improved patient safety in the OR by ensuring the efficient flow of the Sterile Processing department. + Perform routine tasks relating to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, equipment and sterile supplies. Responsible for general operating and monitoring of sterilization equipment. + Maintain records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission and OSHA standards. Maintains Certification, and monitors, instructs and mentors non-certified. + Facilitate awareness and understanding around what is at stake with patients in the OR. + Facilitate the department's preparation of staff to pass survey/regulatory assessments. **Schedule: 7:30am - 4:00pm** **Job Requirements** In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: + Computer skills required + CRCST or CSPDT certification required upon hire or transfer + High School Diploma/G.E.D. required Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly) **Where You'll Work** St. Thomas More Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, is the cornerstone of health care services for Fremont County and surrounding southern Colorado communities.
